True to form, the 2011 Movie Awards was an evening of surprises, swear words and sexual innuendo helmed by comedian host Jason Sudeikis. The 'SNL' funnyman shared the stage with a house full of stars, including the Foo Fighters and past Golden Popcorn winners Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz.

Once again, Team 'Twilight' dominated the winners circle, hauling in five Golden Popcorn awards (Best Movie, to boot). Patrick Dempsey, Robert Pattinson and Chelsea Handler regaled the audience with tales of Reese Witherspoon, who was honored with the MTV Generation Award and brought down the house with her charm and tips on makin' it in Hollywood.

Romance -- or at least lust -- ruled the night, with both winners and presenters having a hard time keeping it in their pants. Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake both grabbed a handful while presenting the evening's first award. Steve-O and the 'Jackass' gang popped laser boners at the thought of Donald Trump in leather chaps. And, although all hope seemed lost for a hot make out sesh between reigning Best Kiss champs Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' fans were rewarded with one of the night's most talked about moments: Pattinson planting a big wet one on an unsuspecting Taylor Lautner in the audience.

Meanwhile, on the music side, Foo Fighters brought the house down with a rocking performance of 'Walk.' Lupe Fiasco and Trey Songz followed the legends with a double dose of awesome, performing 'The Show Goes On' and 'Out of My Head' off Lupe's album, "Lasers." Host Jason Sudeikis threw his own music chops into the mix, performing his very own movie theme songs for some of the year's hottest flicks (you're welcome, Brooklyn Decker). He even had a little help on vocals from Best Comedic Performance winner Emma Stone.

MIDI Makes It Easier!

Music is something we all love and enjoy. It helps us relax and take life easy when we aren't working. The Musical Instrument Digital Interface or MIDI for short, helps musicians input their work into computers and process it.

MIDI compatible instruments send out binary codes that a computer can understand. All notes that a musical instrument is capable of playing are assigned specific MIDI messages according to what the note and octave are. For example, the Middle C note played on any MIDI compatible musical instrument will always transmit the same MIDI message from its 'MIDI Out' port. What code will be transmitted when a note is played is defined in the MIDI specification. This comprises the core of the MIDI standard that all instrument makers like Casio and Yamaha follow.

Since All MIDI instruments follow the MIDI specification and thus transmit identical MIDI messages for identical MIDI events such as the playing of a certain note on the musical instrument, all MIDI instruments can communicate with and understand each other, as well as with computers which have been programmed to understand MIDI messages using MIDI-aware software. The MIDI interface, converts the current fluctuations transmitted by a MIDI musical instrument, into binary numbers that the receiving musical instrument or computer can process.

All MIDI enabled instruments have a built-in MIDI interface. In addition, computer sound cards usually have this built-in interface - if not, it can be separately purchased as a card and easily installed.

So what does this MIDI standard contain? The MIDI standard consists of a communications messaging protocol designed for use with musical instruments, as well as a physical interface standard.
The Physical interface consists of a one-way (simplex) digital
current loop serial communications signaling at 31,250 bits per second.

The advantage of MIDI is that it is low bandwidth consuming and hence is good for networks and Internet. Today, MIDI has become the choice for mobile phone service providers to offer their consumers the latest ring tones. Music lovers can also enjoy their productions and edit them directly with MIDI software allowing them to have complete control on their work.

That is not all! This wonderful standard of communication can also be used for show control, theatre lighting, special effects, sound design, recording system synchronization, audio processor control and computer networking. Any device built with a MIDI out port can in theory control a device with a MIDI in port. This can only happen if the maker of both the devices has made provisions for the agreements between the 2.

In conclusion, the MIDI standard of communication has changed a lot of things. The MIDI messages are light weight packages that can be stored and processed with a minimum of fuss and power. This makes MIDI an invaluable format for musicians, game designers and network workers. MIDI is also excellent for show control helping in presentations and other corporate environmental work.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Calls 'Transformers' Gig 'A Roller Coaster'

Now that we've entered the month of April, it seems justifiable to start hyping this summer's potential blockbusters. Not that we haven't been already, but it feels like the big summer movies are just around the corner — one of those being the highly anticipated "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

MTV News caught up with the franchise's new leading lady, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, recently at CinemaCon to discuss her experience on the film and getting caught up in director Michael Bay's workaholic web.
"I've seen the last two movies, so I kind of knew what I was getting into, but obviously not at all as well," Whiteley said of being a bit overwhelmed by the big movie experience. "It was a crazy opportunity that was handed to me, and I spent seven months making the movie with a great cast and a great director, and it's been a roller coaster of a lifetime for sure," she said. "I'm still on it, I don't know if I'm going to get off anytime soon."

Regarding Bay, Whiteley described him as a "character" with lots of energy: "I think throughout my whole career, I've never seen anybody work so hard in my whole life," she said. "He's literally done these 'Transformers' movies for six years now. As cast, we do the filming for seven months, then he goes into the edit room and edits it for six months, then he comes out of the edit room and promotes it, and by the time he's finished that, he's prepping the next one," she explained. "It's amazing to see how dedicated he is to these films."
